Our Mission
Getting books to 5000 children each year - sounds crazy? We'll do it anyway!
We want to ensure that at least 5000 children in informal settlements, townships and rural locations are getting access to books every year. Through access to books, we aim to create a culture of reading within our communities and strive to be the foremost provider of fictional and curriculum-based literature for children and young people within our community. We encourage children to read stories, learn and engage in educational games in spaces they feel comfortable in
Our Programmes
Book Buddies
A paired reading session where the learning child reads aloud together with his/her learning partner, or Book Buddy. The Book Buddy helps the learning child gain confidence in their reading and pronunciation.
When: Monday-Thursday
12:00pm – 16:00pm
Learner Profile
Test your knowledge with the learner profile system app. You get a detailed progress report and resource package with each license.
When: Monday-Thursday: 12:00pm – 16:00pm
KyKa Mascot
A mobile reading session on our trusted bike. We will come to you, if you're on the playground, in school or the ECD centre.
When: Fridays & Saturdays
13:00 pm - 16:00 pm
Kids' Library
You need a quiet place to do your homework, or just read and relax? Our kids' library is open for you, with learneing partners to help you study and a warm and quiet place to dive into your favourite book.
When: Monday-Friday: 12:00PM – 17:00PM
